Germany’s popularity is backed by numbers, it is not just trends.
One major reason is affordability and easy process. Public universities charge very low tuition fees compared to countries like the USA or UK. This reduces the financial burden for many families.
According to DAAD Germany, the number of Indian students in Germany increased from 28,905 in 2020 to over 59,000 in 2025. That’s more than double in five years.
Reports also show that Indian students are now the largest international student group in Germany. This shift clearly shows growing trust in the system.
Another point; around 60% of Indian students are enrolled in engineering and technical courses, which aligns with Germany’s strong industry base.
