PM announced the PM solar roof roof scheme named as PM solar rooftop scheme Muft bijli yojana on Tuesday. The scheme was first launched by Hon'ble Finance Minister Nirmala sitharaman in the Interim budget for the financial year 2024-2019. The total budget for this scheme is estimated to be over Rs 75000 crores. The scheme aims to provide assistance to more than 1 crore households every month.
